Ten things to should know about Kristin Forbes:
1.
She's been playing guitar for almost 14 years, and she still practises scales
for at least an hour almost every day.
2. If her house were on fire, she would
grab her cat and her guitar and run out the door.
3. She rides a 55 in. Raleigh
Rush hour on its fixed hub. Her track stand is still pretty weak-sauce, but she's
been working on it.
4. She was born in Rhode Island, graduated from the same
high school as her dad, escaped to Boston for college and, after surviving seven
winters there, relocated to lovely Arlington, VA for music, temperate weather,
and free museums.
5. She likes the buzz of the city and riding in traffic,
but her heart lies with the trees and the ocean.
6. Few can match her cooking
arsonal with firepower: hummos, refried beans, corn bread, black bean soup, sweet
potatoe fries, veggie sushi - all from scratch! She's winning the war over hash
browns, lentils are still kicking her ass.
7. She likes to laugh, long and
loud and clear.
8. She loves to dance and, if you see her out, she probably
came to get down.
9. She learned to knit to amuse herself in the van on tour,
and her family has been having very crafty Christmases ever since.
10. She's
great at birthdays - cakes, cards, balloons, you name it. It just might not be
on the actual day, but hey! It's the thought that counts, right?
